Evelyn was born in El Monte, California, and moved to Utah when she was just two years old. She graduated from Weber State University in 2018—GO WILDCATS! After completing her student teaching at Sand Springs, she was hired at the end of the year, and she’s now in her 8th year of teaching.
Teaching third grade has always been her dream, and she’s been living it ever since she began her career. For seven years, she was a Spanish immersion teacher before transitioning into general education.
Outside the classroom, Evelyn is a proud dog mom to her fur baby, Kobe, and a loving aunt to three nephews (plus one dog nephew!). She enjoys reading, painting her nails, and going to Pilates.
She’s also a self-proclaimed Disney adult—Disneyland truly is the happiest place on earth in her book! Another place close to her heart is Mexico, where she loves visiting family and enjoying the incredible food and music.
Her favorite colors are pink and butter yellow, and she loves getting her steps in at Target. Halloween is her favorite holiday, and while she mostly drinks water, she treats herself to iced coffee, Dr Pepper Zero, or a peach Alani Nu every now and then.
Food is definitely her love language, and one of her favorite spots is Cafe Rio.
We’re so lucky to have such a passionate, fun, and dedicated teacher in our community. Thank you, Evelyn, for everything you do!
